Hexensommer Hexensommer is the German translation of the American novel Rhubarb Summer. It is published by Aufbau-Verlag, Berlin. It has been described as a cross between To Kill a Mockingbird and Stand By Me that reads like a movie in your mind. A mainstream novel appropriate for all ages of readers, it is told from the viewpoint of Joanna Anderson, as she remembers the summer of 1954 when she was twelve and her world was irrevocably changed.
